Which criteria is the appraisal based on?
ArtX only analyses the image: visual complexity, stylistic singularity, compositional organisation, emotional impact, morphological originality and technical mastery. Each criterion is scored from 0 to 100, then combined with the size of the work. If the artist is on ArtX, their rating adjusts the result. No social media data or sale prices are used: the appraisal is reproducible.
Online appraisal or expert valuation: which to choose?
An online appraisal is ideal for a fast first opinion: pricing a canvas, checking an offer, preparing an insurance policy or comparing several works. For an old work or one by a highly rated artist, it serves as a starting point before a physical valuation.

You can download the appraisal sheet, generate a certificate, share the result or publish the work on the ArtX marketplace, for sale or simply on display.
